When designing luxury interiors for our residential clients, we regularly use Drummonds for their classic bathroom products. If you want a traditional feel with a high-quality finish, this Chelsea-based company is a good starting point for inspiration. For this month’s Interiors Blog, Catherine Wilman Interiors asked the Drummonds design team what they have been working on.

Townhouse bathroom with a sophisticated urban edge
Designed by Drummonds’ Bathroom Design Service, this townhouse bathroom has a sophisticated urban edge. Drummonds’ classic bathroomware is beautifully set within a simple, modern interior, putting all the design focus onto the gleaming brass, marble and china.
The pieces chosen are all on a grand scale; underlining the luxury of having a large bathroom with space for dramatic pieces such as the spectacular double vanity with its large brass- framed tilt mirrors accentuated by handmade wall lights.

Dark tiling in the shower area throws the brass fittings into a bold contrast, underlining the juxtaposition of classicism and contemporary style.

Blurring the margins between traditional and contemporary
Today’s style is all about fusion; blurring the margins between traditional and contemporary and using elements of both to create eclectic living spaces. Drummonds’ bathroom collections embody this look. Inspired by period pieces and manufactured using traditional processes, their lines are clean and classic, perfect for luxury interiors.
Shown here, charcoal grey walls and floor are contrasted with mirror finish nickel brassware and white ceramics. The space is defined with two key focus points, Drummonds’ imposing marble topped double vanity unit and the extraordinary Nith wooden bath, handmade for Drummonds by a Scottish boat builder.

At the far end of the bathroom, the wet room features Drummonds’ Nene concealed shower with a ceiling mounted rose and crisp white ceramic detailing on the control plate. Overall, the look combines minimalism with the inherent warm of traditional materials and classic shapes.

Colourful en-suite for Victorian terrace
Inspired by period pieces and traditional manufacturing techniques, Drummonds’ bathroom products are full of character and epitomise classic British style.
This colourful ensuite in a south-west London Victorian terrace has mixed classic Drummonds fittings with vibrant Mediterranean-style tiles and glamorous accessories and finishes. Drummonds’ products lend themselves perfectly to this eclectic look, showcasing real craftsmanship and using luxurious materials such as nickel, marble and enameled cast iron.
A small, dated bathroom and separate loo were knocked together to create this large, family friendly space. The centrepiece, a freestanding Tay bath is displayed against panels of antiqued mirror that reflect light around the room.

The Dalby shower is set in a tiled walk-in enclosure, whilst the veined grey marble of the Double Crake vanity basin coordinates beautifully with the patterned tiles. The delicate oval of the tilt mirrors prettily echoes the lines of both the twin basins and the bath.

A calm, uncluttered bathroom with a hint of Art Deco
The centrepiece of this charming en suite bathroom is Drummonds’ Baby Ness under mounted cast iron bath with a figured marble surround and paneled sides.
The Chessleton brassware, with its feature walnut handles, is wall-mounted, underlining a calm, uncluttered look which is completed by a delicately shaded mural. The paneled door vanity cabinet has two Moy underhung basins with Mull brassware. The fluted shades of the Dalby wall lights have a vintage presence which, combined with the paneling details and extensive use of marble on walls and floor, sees the overall feel of this bathroom leaning towards the Art Deco.
A classic look, it can easily be taken towards a more contemporary finish depending on the choice of marble and woodwork detailing.
